Field lab Broddbo - Lime trial on peat soil

Objective
To investigate how lime is affecting GHG emissions and yield from well-decomposed peat soil.
Description
0, 10 and 20 t/ha agricultural lime (CaCO3) was mixed into the topsoil. GHG and yield are measured.

History
The area was drained starting in the 1840s. It was a pasture before we used it as a research field.
Management
Conventionally farmed. Three treatments were repeated three times. 0, 10, 20 t agricultural lime/ha. Timothy is grown on the 6*4 m plots. They are harvested two times and fertilised with mineral fertiliser. NPK 11-5-18, 2*50 kg N. Yield and GHG emissions are measured.
